ITOC Operator of the Year award - (August 2008)
In recognition of Real Journeys' product, service and staff as well as its overall management and presentation.
(ITOC is a trade association which has represented the interests of inbound tourism for over thirty years. Today its members collectively handle most of New Zealand's holiday visitor arrivals).
Real Journeys won the top award for the second time in three years.
Tourism Industry Association's 2008 “New Zealand Trade and Enterprise Award” (August 2008)

Presented annually to an individual and an organisation with an overwhelming safety ethos.

Environment Southland Environment Award - (May 2006)
For environmentally sustainable tourism practices in Doubtful Sound. Real Journeys won the corporate section of Environment Southland’s annual Environment Awards for its efforts to minimise the environmental impact of its excursions.
