The interview process

At your interview, we are looking for evidence of behaviour that displays the required skills / knowledge for the role you have applied for and we will be looking for relevant examples that illustrate what you did, how you went about it and the end result. Ensure you are well prepared and have done your research. You should answer all questions directly. We may ask a few personal questions to find out about your personality and core values.

In preparation, think back over the past 2 years to a time when you demonstrated the skills and behaviours that you feel would be relevant to the role you are being interviewed for.

Here are some interviewing tips to assist in your preparation:

  • Think of examples that best illustrate your knowledge / skills for the role you have applied for
  • Be specific and detailed in your response
  • Use examples from previous jobs where possible but if you don't have much work experience, examples from volunteer work, school, hobbies and other parts of your life are also effective
  • Take your time. It is OK to spend a minute thinking of an example before you start talking
  • Clarify your understanding of the question if you need to
  • Spend time researching the organisation before attending the interview

Please ensure you bring a copy of your drivers license and any qualification certificates to the interview.
