Underwater Explorer Cruises To Finish

Stewart Island Experience will finish running Underwater Explorer Cruises in Halfmoon Bay at the end of this summer season, 30 April 2010.

Stewart Island Experience Area Manager, Neil Collinson, said the underwater viewing experience was dependent on weather and sea conditions, which made it operationally challenging.

It has proved very difficult to provide passengers with good viewing on a consistent enough basis and there have been too many days when we could not operate.

The Mollymawk, a semi-submersible vessel used for the Underwater Explorer Cruises excursion, will be relocated to Bluff for survey and listed for sale.
