Travelling with kids can be tough. The extra changes of clothes and snacks, not to mention trying to find activities that keep the whole family entertained.
With school holidays just round the corner, here’s a list of our top five kid friendly trips.

If your kids love glow-in-the-dark stars, they’ll love the hundreds of glittering glowworms in the Te Anau Glowworm Caves. Recently listed in TripAdvisor’s Top 10 Experiences in New Zealand, this is a great way to spend a few hours these school holidays.

A magical winter wonderland, kids absolutely love Cardrona! Whether you’re taking the family skiing or building your very first snowman, there’s many options for the whole family to enjoy your day on the slopes.
Fun for the whole family, a trip on the iconic Lady of the Lake is a must do whilst in Queenstown. Kids love seeing the working steamship in action and meeting the captain up in the wheelhouse.
Make the most of your trip across the lake on the Earnslaw by getting off at the other side and exploring Walter Peak High Country Farm. Watch the farm dogs in action, see the sheep get shorn, feed the deer and pat the high country cows. Morning or afternoon tea is included in this trip so no need to pack the snacks! There’s even time for Mum and Dad to stop and smell the roses in the beautiful lakeside gardens before heading back across the lake.
Hours of fun for the whole family, the International Antarctic Centre is a brilliant rainy day or any day activity. See the rescued Little Blue penguins, enjoy the 3D movies, learn about life on Antarctica and if you’re lucky, meet the huskies from Husky Rescue NZ.
