Real Journeys new Marketing Manager, Ciara Craig began her new role this week by heading straight to Milford Sound, Doubtful Sound, the Te Anau Glowworm Caves and Queenstown’s Walter Peak High Country Farm.
“It was on a day trip to Milford Sound over a decade ago that I fell in love with this part of the world and knew I had to work in tourism. I admire the brand, experiences and history behind Real Journeys and I’m extremely excited to be joining the team,” says Ciara.
Originally from Ireland, Ciara has spent the last five years at Arrowtown’s luxury five-star Millbrook Resort, leading their marketing team – most recently as Head of Marketing and Guest Experience. Prior to that Ciara was Marketing Communications Manager at global experiential tourism company Magic Memories, based in Queenstown. The first half of Ciara’s 18-year marketing career was spent in the finance industry and includes working for Kiwibank in Wellington and Tesco Bank in Scotland.
“They were not traditional banks and I was part of very innovative and forward-thinking teams. I learnt quickly that understanding the guest journey (down to the finest detail) is the key to success,” says Ciara.
Real Journeys Director of Sales and Marketing Carmen White says she is delighted to have Ciara on board. “Ciara brings a more personalised customer engagement focus and a depth of knowledge and experience across both traditional and digital marketing that will enhance our marketing team.”
When she’s not at work, Ciara can be found skiing, kayaking, paddle boarding, mountain biking or relaxing with a glass of pinot noir.
